Stephen James and Edgar Titterton

They have created a collaborative piece for this exhibition: Stephen creates non-tangible artworks and unique soundscapes through alternative manipulations of a variety of means including running data and images through sound translation programs as well as recording his stochastic interactions with instruments and objects and in doing so creates ambient and perplexing settings. Edgar’s practice involves the construction of 3 dimensional structures that warp light and video, reflecting it onto the surrounding vicinity. In doing so the installations attempt to create an encompassing optical experience between planar boundaries. In collaboration, they are now showing a research-based, site-specific installation that brings together both their practices in an attempt to create a new fiction for this atmospheric location by collecting and distorting historical data on New Cross and the surrounding area.
